Children with special needs only want what we all want - to be accepted. Can I make a request of anyone willing to post this and leave it on your status for at least an hour? It's Special Education week, and this is inhonour of all children who learn a little differently ♥ - kak Fatehah.

Bila tengok macam mana orang depicts perangai org yg xleh terima kehadiran sorg anak yg deformed, sy terfikir. "Masih ada ke org mcm tu?"

dlm buku2 Biol, perkataan2 'suffer' akn ku potong. they are not suffering, we are, it kills me to think of what would I feel if I'm in their shoes.

Apiq, as the closest example.

He understands us.

He knows what he wants to say.

He tries explaining and always gives up after the third or forth "ha?" from us..

Just imagine that YOU wanted to tell YOUR MUM that YOU love her, and YOU say it out loud. You KNOW you just expressed YOUR FEELING towards her, BUT she shows indifference. . . You understand what you said, but you don't understand why is it that your mum isn't giving u the response you were hoping for??

Acceptance.

He knows he loves kids, every body knows he really loves babies.. But some babies and little kids are afraid of him. He just wants the kids to play with him, but he often blames his crossed-eyes *and I am still feeling guilty ...*

smlm main lukis2 ngan adik n apiq.... apiq drew my double chin, and when it was my turn,i drew apiq's face. u know, sindrom down kan mata juling.. so, it's a significant thing la to draw crossed-eye....
theeeen.. i showed to him. he was like...
"knapa lukis mcm ni? mata x sama...."
of course, he cannot say like that, but that was how i enterpret iiittt.. waaaaaaaaaaa
sedddeeeeyyhh.
then i showed him his picture.. showed him his eyes... "mata apiq mmg camni kan.. tgk.. haa. same x akk lukis.."
muka die laiiiiinnn.. he was like rubbing his eyes, trying to FIX it... omg omg omg omggg.. sooorry apiqqq...
then he looked real sad, n baring...termenung.. still usik2 mata dia...
i hugged him n said...
"alaahh.. mata apiq comel daa....mcm mne pon adik akk da ensemm daaa.."
omg omg omg..
he's 14 now. mesti dia da prasan that he's "different"...no, he's not different. he's special. my brother.

Whenever budak2 nangis tengok dia, his face would look very sad and when i say "mainla ngan adik tu.." "akut! *pointing to the babies and touching his eyes*" (budak tu takut!")

Kalau budak2 xpe lagi, ni yg da besar pjg da give stares.. give stares to other special people .. can't we just accept them? i mean, ACCEPT US? cuz every child is special *taare zameen par* .. they were born to be in this world, this is their world too, if it's not here, then where else should they seek for acceptance??

Making fun.

1 lagi bila tengok people make fun of them. Stares, acceptable la jugak, but making fun, so not accepted. Just as in racism, I fully reject any kind of act to make fun of their differences.

bila tengok gambar budak2 istimewa, "adik ang la tu. muka sama." gelak gelak.

masih igt .. dulu, masa kitorg kena marah sebab xsiapkan homework kot.. "nak sy hantar kamu g *sekolah istimewa* ke? duk ngan budak2 xde akal kat situ".. ya Allah. masa tu mcm nk nangis je dengar. kejamnyaaa ayaaaat.

dorg ada je akal! Cuma, even though they may not have the privilege to use their brain to the fullest, hati dorg pure..!

Bila tengok budak2 istimewa yg kena tinggal ngan mak bapak kat rumah anak2 yatim, or kena kurung kat dalam rumah xbg join the society, I will always remember what Yan said .. something like.. "Allah jadikan Apiq dalam family ni sbb Allah tahu Abah n Maklah org yg paling sesuai untuk jaga Apiq" T.T

Gamba ni masa Apiq skype-ing ngan Along. He was speechless, couldn't believe that kat sini malam n kat tempat along terang benderang..Even though I had always dream of having a normal sister-brother conversation with Apiq, I know that we don't really need words or languages, our hearts have lips. :)))

So bila kita rasa nk merungut ke apa ke.. tolonglah fikir apa lebihnya kita yg xde kat dorg? Apa lebihnya dorg yg xde kat kita? Kita semua sama je. Accept the differences.

PENAT STUDY? THEY WISH THEY KNEW HOW TO EVEN READ A STORY BOOK. *paaaang. tamparan kat muka sendiri*
